Why the name Imhotep? The Imhotep Institute is named after a great Egyptian multi genius from the third dynasty.
Imhotep was born about 3000 B. C. He accomplished much as an architect, astronomer, philosopher, poet, sage, scribe, and king’s physician. Imhotep is highly honored as the “Father of Medicine” and the “Father of the Step Pyramids.” There still remain bronze statuettes and temples bearing his name.
Imhotep was not satisfied with only the invention of the Step Pyramid, he was also the “architect” for the first pyramid built by Pharaoh Djoser at Saqqara. The name Imhotep means
"He who comes in peace." |
